Renegades Cement Top Spot
breeze thru Sullivan tourney
It could have been their pre game ritual, as pictured above, but more likely it was their outstanding team play and the pitching of Sara Groenewegen that led to the Renegades romp through the tourney at Sullivan Park on the weekend.
Groenewegen scattered four hits, struck out six batters, and allowed only six runs while her teammates racked up sixteen runs in the tourney final against the Storm.
The most thrilling game of the tourney was the semi final, which saw the Storm battle back from behind and force the game into extra innings on a home run by Jennifer Santcruz.
Ridge Meadows scored three runs and looked to have the game won but the Storm battled back again scoring three runs in the bottom of the 8th to secure the win and advance to the final against the Renegades.
