Master's Provincials

Kelowna Three Peats

but can they win the "big one"

Andre Blanliel's 2nd inning three run homer helped Kelowna win their 3rd consecutive provincial title on the weekend but the big prize lurks ahead.

Blanleil went 3 for 3 and scored 3 times in the final game as the Andres Kelowna club coasted to an 8-2 win over Nanaimo Budget - and a tiring Lindsay Haverstock - who was pitching his 4th game of the tournament.

Kelowna split their pitching assignment between Kevin Sutherland, Andre Blanleil, and Mike Peichnik and held the opposition to only 7 runs while scoring 21 in their 3 game sweep.

However, the big prize is the Western Canadians in Portage LaPraire and Andres are looking to regain the Gold they tasted in '05 after a dissapointing Silver medal last year.

"Last year we had a couple uncharacteristic errors late in the game and it cost us" said Rene Blanleil.

"They (Saskatchewan) have Scheller (pitcher Rob Scheller) and we always have good tilts with them. We think we can beat 'em but having Peaches (Mike Peichnik) would sure help!".

Apparently Peichnik is unhappy with Portland and may opt to play in the Western Cdn Masters with Kelowna rather than in the Challenge Cup with Portland.
