Royals Trump Tournament
beat Stealers in final
It's not often that a pitcher gives up 10 runs and walks away with a win but that's what Travis Kunz and the Royals did in the tourney final as they defeated the Linus Software Stealers by a score of 11-10.
Trail Tire captured third place with a 16-10 win over the Poco Bombers, who had finished atop the field after round robin play.
The heat was the story as it seemed to wear down the pitchers and warm up the hitters. At total of 167 runs were scored in only 11 games.
Players and fans were shocked and then worried as home plate umpire Bill Watson feinted from heat exhaustion in the 6th inning of the consolation final between Poco and Trail.
Emergency personnel were on the scene quickly and Bill was eventually cleared to remain at the park - although the consolation game was ended in the 6th with the score 16-10 in favour of Trail. |
