Criteria for classifying pitchers
Pitchers begin at the "D" level.
"D" pitchers typically throw fastballs or drops in the low 60's and riseballs in the high 50's.
A "D" pitcher is moved to the "C" level upon exceeding the above criteria and having success at the "D" level.
"C" pitchers typically throw fastballs or drops in the high 60's and riseballs in the low 60's.
A "C" pitcher is moved to the "B" level upon exceeding the above criteria and having success at the "C" level.
"B" pitchers typically throw fastballs or drops in the low 70's and riseballs in the high 60's.
A "B" pitcher is moved to the "A" level upon exceeding the above criteria and having success at the "B" level.
"A" pitchers typically throw fastballs or drops in the high 70's and riseballs in the low 70's.
An "A" pitcher is moved to the "Open" level upon exceeding the above criteria and having success at the "A" level. |
