More hits but fewer runs!

Results a puzzle

That's quite a puzzle that I'd like to present to marketing people who study polling and this kinda stuff.

What logic can you draw from the results of our poll (below) that reflects reader's opinions of what the game needs.

Apparently, the majority of people would like to see more hits and fewer strikeouts yet they also prefer lower scoring games?

How to make fastpitch a better game

This time of year seems to spawn discussions about what's wrong and what's right about the game of fastpitch softball and why there is such a small fan base

Perhaps it's best to start this process by getting a consensus of what we would like to see, and then discuss rule or design changes to suit.

Please read the summaries below and vote in the poll on the right.

Scoring

There were an average of 7.56 runs scored per game in the '07 Cdn Sr "A" men's championships. The Premier league saw an average of 7.13 runs per game this season.

In general, do you think there should be more or fewer runs scored per game in order to make the game more appealing to fans and players.

The number of homeruns varies quite a bit from league to league and tourney to tourney but there is roughly 1 "over the fence" homer hit per game on average.

Do you think there should be more homers, fewer, or about the same?
