Major Men’s Fastpitch Invades Vancouver
Bob Law Memorial Tourney
The South Hill Sports Association will play host to the Bob Law Memorial Fastpitch Challenge at Memorial South Park in Vancouver from July 22nd-24th.
This annual tournament features some of the finest male fastpitch players in the country including numerous current and former Team Canada representatives. “The collection of talent at this tournament is second to none on the fastpitch schedule each year in our region,” says Tournament Director, Craig Donaldson.
This year’s Challenge is the 10th edition of the tournament, one that has been a major attraction to some of the world’s top teams in years past.
Teams competing in the 2011 version include six of the top clubs in British Columbia and the visiting Saskatoon Diamondbacks, a talented squad deep in both pitching and offense.
The tournament defending champions and host, South Hill Vancouver Giants, will be looking to repeat their title for the third year in a row as they prepare to represent B.C. in the Softball Canada National Championships later this summer in Owen Sound, Ontario.
Tournament play commences Friday night at 7pm and continues all-day Saturday, concluding with the Championship Final on Sunday at 2pm. Admission is $2 for Friday night, $6 per day Saturday and Sunday, or $12 for a tournament pass. Kids under 12 are free.
