Peaches inducted to Hall of Fame
Chad Ghostkeeper (left) was named BC Sr Player of the Year based on his outstanding performance at the Canadian Men's National tournament and contributions to the sport.
Ghostkeeper was not present to accept his award as he was coaching his son at a hockey tournament
Bryan Abrey was named Jr Player of the Year based on his accomplishments at the Canadian Midget and Men's National tournaments. Abrey is currently attending college in Calfornia on a baseball scholarship and his award was accepted by his dad, Ron Abrey.
Mike Piechnick was inducted into the Hall of Fame based on his accomplishments during his career, including winning an ISF World Championship for Canada and many outstanding performances in the Canadian Nationals, including this year with the Vancouver Grey Sox at age 45.
Piechnick entertained the crowd with a series of stories beginning as a fifteen year old boy whose father was killed in an industrial accident to his many accomplishments in international play.
Other major awards went to Dan Coates and Mike Hornak.
The biggest rumour floating around was that the Black Bears would not be sending a team to the 2007 Cdn Nationals so several members of the Prince George team are being persued by the Vancouver Grey Sox.
