
Cloverdale Wins Provincials
off to Western's in Port Alberni
The Cloverdale Hawks coached by Mike Soldan and Don Thompson went undefeated in seven games, hitting 15 homeruns and scoring 86 runs for, while allowing only 21 against.
The final game against Sooke Renegades was tied 3-3 until the top of the 5th inning when the Cloverdale bats drove in nine runs.
Pitcher Emmett Martyniuk kept the Sooke bats at bay to win the Gold medal with a 12-3 win - the Hawks fifth mercy win of the tourney.
The Hawks go on to represent BC at the Westerns in Port Alberni August 4th-7th. |
